Innovative Antalis showroom at the crossroads of communication and knowledge sharing

| PRESSMEDDELANDE | Stockholm, 13 oktober 2016 - Antalis, the leading European merchant for paper and visual communication solutions, is proud to open its brand new showroom – ‘Brainstore’- at 64 avenue de France in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, surrounded by galleries, start-ups and the renowned François Mitterrand library. With this bright and modern space, Antalis is offering both marketing and communication professionals and small and large format printers the expertise and means they need to make even the most ambitious and creative paper projects happen.

“We are delighted to be able to offer this beautiful location to all who wish to discover the countless creative possibilities paper offers in today’s digital world,” states Stéphane Courtot, President of Antalis France, Managing Director of Western Europe. “Its location at the junction of tradition and modernity is significant, and perfectly reflects the current evolution of the paper sector. Paper remains unique in terms of its intrinsic sensory qualities, and these qualities increase tenfold when combined with the latest printing and communication technologies. Our new Brainstore showcases this complementarity perfectly.”

Added-value products and services backed by the expertise of paper consultants to facilitate project design
The Brainstore highlights the unique scope of the Antalis offer, with numerous displays of creative, eco-friendly and digital papers as well as large-format media for visual communication such as the flagship Coala range. Faced with such a choice, Antalis’ paper consultants provide valuable advice on the media best suited to a specific application or machine. This expertise comes with sample services as well as small format printing services for agencies, designers and other professionals so that they can test the products they are considering and evaluate the final print results.

This is possible thanks to the Xerox iGen® 5 Press which has been installed on site and is available to craft prototypes. - Xerox is a long-standing partner of Antalis . The iGen5 is the most flexible digital colour press on the market, capable of dealing with all media types (coated, uncoated, textured, speciality stocks, recycled, perforated, dividers, transparent, and a wide variety of labels.) and weighs (up to 65g / m2 to 530g / m2, 610μ maximum) as well as the maximum size of 364x660mm for consistent print quality. A web-to-print service is also planned for installation in the near future. An expert from Xerox will be constantly available to advise and support customers. A range of finishing solutions are also available to ensure that prototypes are as near the end product as possible.

"This European Brainstore is yet another demonstration of our strong commitment to the market in partnership with Antalis,” says Hubert Soviche, General Manager, Strategy/Marketing & Channel Operations, Xerox Europe. “It represents a unique value proposition combining technology, media, applications and business development, in order to help our customers improve performance and grow in their market."

"We are very pleased that this project developed hand-in-hand with Xerox has come to fruition," says Stéphane Courtot. "Such an ambitious undertaking has further strengthened our already close ties, most recently demonstrated by our partnership at Drupa 2016."

A training centre to share a wealth of paper knowledge
Always eager to go the extra mile in supporting customers, Antalis is establishing a training centre within the Brainstore (certification underway). The objective of the centre is to provide customers with knowledge of the entire graphic arts chain (colorimetry, desktop publishing...) and guide them in the transition from offset to digital (personalisation, cross-media applications...). Training will consist of both technical and strategic modules and will be taught by internal and external experts.

"There is clearly a lack of knowledge surrounding paper, either due to technical aspects or a misunderstanding about the many opportunities offered by digital solutions today. With our expertise in these areas we can help our customers grow," states Stéphane Courtot.

A convivial place to meet and exchange ideas
Professionals in the industry will have the opportunity to use the Brainstore as a place to meet and work with their own clients so they will feel completely at home and comfortable in this space. Any member with a personal card (supplied on request) will be able to book a meeting room and use the sample print services. They will also be able to participate in exhibitions and workshops which Antalis plans to hold regularly to make sure this showroom dedicated to communication media is a living, breathing place.
